Futuristic Technology

All Summer in a Day

All Summer in a Day is about people living on Venus. On Venus they have had rain for as long as they have lived there. In the book that day they were supposed to have rain, but everyone was doubtful. Except for Margot she was determined the sun was going to come out it was all she dreamed about. All her classmates did not believe her so they locked her up in a closet. Then, the sun actually came out, and everyone went outside to play. The classmates forgot about Margot! Once the kids remembered she was in the closet the sun went and out came the rain again.

Honestly, I do not think it has rained everyday for a couple years on Earth. I really do not think anyone is living on Venus at the moment, but it is very possible because our Earth is getting a lot warmer that we might have to leave this Earth and move to Venus. The Earth is getting so hot because of the Greenhouse Effect which is trapping heat in our atmosphere because of the Ozone. The only way to live on Venus would to build underground cities which they did in the book.

The technology is this book is what we might see in the future. We might have to move to a new planet with underground cities just like in the book. But for right now not really any of the things told in the book are happening now. It is a possibility it could happen soon.
